The “R…..” word!

Now behold Lamb
Celebrating Advent as we ponder repentance

Mark 1:4 (NLT)
This messenger was John the Baptist. He was in the wilderness and preached that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven.”

I know. Be quick! It is Saturday and CHRISTmas is coming and time is short!

Shorter than most realize!

There it is, the word that causes many to shut down but please keep reading. God has a blessing in the word, repent.

John the Baptize was the messenger. The Words and message belong to God!

Simple language:
Repent = turn from sin, turn to God and His ways, plans, and purposes. Repentance is not simply tears, although tears may be a response to the change of heart that takes place in true repentance.

Now, the sad thing is that instead of embracing God’s Word, many have accepted the enemy’s lie that repenting will cause you to miss out of real life. But look at what Jesus said:

John 10-10b

Why would we believe the master thief, the original murderer, the father of lies, the deceiver, the accuser of the brethren, the adversary, the ruler darkness?  Jesus said, “The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.” John 6:63

We can read through the Scriptures and find that the message of repentance stands firm. Repentance for salvation. Repentance as a vital part of the true believer and new creature’s abundant life. When we sin against our Lord and Savior in thought, attitude, action, and belief on our journey, we repent.

The enemy says, repentance is meant to hurt you.
God says, repentance is the path of blessing.

So even now I pray and will be doing so as I ponder this truth, continuing to ask God to prepare my heart for CHRISTmas…

Heavenly Father,

“Search me and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”Psalm 139:23-24
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Thank you, Father!
My heart is getting ready for a great CHRISTSmas celebration!
Blessed be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
