On yesterday, we entered into the fourth week of Advent which has a theme of Light. Let’s pray…
O Blessed and Heavenly Father, the Great God I Am, we bow before You so very thankful that You are our Light and our Salvation and in You there is no darkness at all for You are completely pure, holy, and righteous.
Forgive us for turning our hearts from You and choosing sin and darkness. We thank You for providing our way out of that darkness. You promised in the days of the Old Testament that a great light was coming and Jesus is that Light. We bless you for Your faithfulness to Your Word. O Lord, there is no adequate way to thank you for Jesus entering this world born of a virgin, dying on the cross, overcoming death and the grave so that we might have and walk as children of light.
We are thankful that Jesus is the Light of the World and that He calls everyone who believes and receives Him as Lord and Savior out of the darkness into His marvelous light. His light reveals You to us for He is the radiance of your glory and expresses Your very character, nature, and attributes to us. Thank you for the Light of Jesus revealing to us Your plans, purposes, and ways as Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path leading and guiding our lives for your glory. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who lives in us and brings us the Light of your wisdom and counsel.
Thank You that You are the Creator God and that no matter how this world may seem, darkness cannot overcome the Light of Your glory. Father, we know that a better day is coming. We look forward to Jesus’ Second Coming and the New Jerusalem where “there will be no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb (Revelation 21:23)”. Thank you for the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
Father, life comes with much trouble and issues. I pray that we will be faithful to allow You to shine the light of Your Word on every one. Help us by your grace and power to shine forth in Your Name. “For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light (Psalm 36:9).”
In Jesus Great and Awesome Name,
