This Psalm so reminds me of a song we sung when I was a child, Jesus is Mine.
Jesus is mine – Jesus is mine,
everywhere I go, everywhere I be,
Jesus is mine. Truly mine,
O yes He’s mine!
My heart smiles at just the thought of the song and the truth in it for every true believer. It’s an “imagine that” kind of thing. And yet, I don’t have to imagine it because it is true.
The Creator God, the Holy, Righteous, Pure and Perfect, Almighty, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient, Great God I Am, Sovereign, and Sustainer of the universe who rules and reigns gave David, and gives you and I, the awesome privilege of saying “My” – My God.
I am His and He is mine. Mine in the morning, mine in the noon day, mine in evening and mine all night long. Jesus is mine. O yes, My soul finds rest in My God and in Him alone.
My heart and my mind says “WOW” to this awesome privilege of a personal relationship with the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and all mankind! And to know that everywhere I go and everywhere I be – He’s with me. Not only in what I consider the good times but in every aspect of my life. Loneliness – He’s there. Disappointment – He’s with me. Broken hearted – He’s right with me. Yea tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death – My God is with me.
No matter the issue, faith responds by trusting God and giving thanks that since “Jesus is mine. I am not alone.” Amen.
I may not be certain about what the future holds but I know My God holds the future and me. He is my fortress. I will not be shaken!
Hallelujah to the Living God!
