Yet it was the LORD’s will

Rev21.1.3

On yesterday, we finished our time together in Revelation 21:

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

Today God as I begin my devotions, the Lord brings me to these verses to remind me of His abounding love, amazing grace, and tender mercy for the world. For the world and yet it is so very personal, FOR ME. FOR ME!

When Jesus was on the cross, the Father had you and me in His Heart and on His mind! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND WORTHY OF PRAISE.

The verses are Isaiah 53:10-12: I am using the New Living Translation just to allow us to read in everyday  language. ESV is one of the translations I use when studying. If it is more to your liking, here is the link, Isaiah 54: 10-12.

Isaiah 53:10-12 (NLT)
10 But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush Him

and cause Him grief.
Yet when His life is made an offering for sin,
He will have many descendants.
He will enjoy a long life,

and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in His hands.
11 When He sees all that is accomplished by His anguish,
He will be satisfied.
And because of His experience,

my righteous Servant will make it possible
for many to be counted righteous,
for He will bear all their sins.
12 I will give Him the honors of a victorious soldier,
because He exposed himself to death.
He was counted among the rebels.
He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

WOW – read it again and put your name in it, especially verse 11 “my righteous Servant will make it possible PAT to be counted righteous, for He will bear ALL PAT’S sin”.

Verse 12, “He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of PAT and interceded for Rebel PAT.” AMAZING GRACE HOW SWEET THE SOUND THAT SAVED A WRETCH LIKE ME!

Rebel is who I wasbut now I am the righteousness of God In Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”)! Shout now!

BUT not just me…for the world…for whomsoever will…for you!

  1. His truth is yet to be apprehended by His children, the redeemed! (His people perish for lack of knowledge.) Take 1 John 5:18 for instance: “We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.” (See also 1 John 3:6, 9)
Yes, we are to reckon ourselves dead to so and alive to God in Christ Jesus! (Romans 6:11). Hallelujah!

  3. An awesome post! Thank you for sharing. So often I never stop to insert my name into Scripture passages to let it all sink in that Jesus did this all for me. Yes, He had ALL of us on His mind as He hung on that cross. But I rarely stop to think of the personal side of it all. Thank you for reminding me of His never-ending, personal love for me. Love & blessings!

Inserting my name and taking notes in the first person has been a great blessing for years in regards to my relationship. I pray it will bless you as well! Thanks for stopping in! Blessings to ya!
