The Lord is my keeper!
He is the Keeper of my soul and the Lifter of my head!
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
Psalm 34:22, “The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.” Jesus, who is God Himself, came to earth for this purpose, to redeem and keep the soul of man. The person who believes this truth is forever kept by Jesus. I can hear the old saints singing now, “oh, to be kept by Jesus.”
No one or nothing can snatch the true believer from His hand. Like the Psalmist declared, “I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the LORD; the humble will hear it and rejoice.”
Why is my soul rejoicing? Jesus is mine and is the True and Living God “Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:5).” He is the God who redeems and keeps us from all harm.
“Stuff” happens. We suffer hurt, disappointment, sickness and the list goes on. God will permit some things but never to the point that He plans our harms. He is our Loving Father Whose plan is never to harm us, but to prosper us and give us hope and a future. What the enemy does to harm us, God uses for good. Just ask Joseph. I am sure the pit, slavery, and prison messed with his soul but through emotional tears he speaks in Genesis 50:20, As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.“
Psalm 121:5 declares that “the Lord is our shade on upon our right hand.” Life comes with the heated moments, the pressures and distresses. Sometimes it can feel like the sun is just bearing down on us. God says, I Am your shade from what whatever bears down on you. “Cast your cares on Me.” I Am watching over you and will give the provision and protection you need.” The throne of grace provides rest for the weary soul!
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” Psalm 91:1-2
You + God always equal the majority!
No matter the danger or what help is needed,
God is our Keeper and our Shade whether it
is morning, noon, or night.
Let’s walk by faith and not by sight for God is watching over!
