I was rebellious, and stubborn, and self-willed and it would have been so much better to surrender to God. Even when I messed up, I should have confessed my sin and repented. 1 John 1:9 declares that “if we confess our sins, the Lord is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
If only I had repented sooner, it would have made for a whole lot less ash. Instead I had to wait until I was thrown overboard, somewhere between the ship and fish’s belly to repent. Avoid all that, learn to hurry up and repent. It’s nothing to be ashamed of for it is a practice of every mature Christian…because we all mess up BUT we don’t have to live there.
I am so thankful that when I did repent the Lord heard my fervent prayer. Had I known the value of prayer before going my own way and getting on that ship things would have been different. I believe God would have given me the Word I needed to walk in His ways instead of leaning on my own understanding and being cast into the belly of a great fish! No matter what, pray! As Ephesians 6:18 says, “pray at all times about all things.” It will keep you out of the fish’s belly and enable you to live for His glory. Amen.
‘Doing all for God’s glory’ includes ALL nations just as God says in Matthew 28:18-20:
If only the Word was hidden in my heart that I might not sin against the Lord.
God had given me this great privilege of joining Him at work to seek and save those He created and loved by taking them the message to repent.
When the truth is told I now understand that no man deserves to be saved but God’s love, grace, and mercy looks beyond fault and sees our need. God taught me that His grace is available to ALL, whosover will repent of their sin, believe in their heart that Jesus is the Christ who was crucified and that God raised Him from the dead. Whosoever will confess with their mouth, let them come.
Always remember that no one is too lost to be saved and no one too low for you to serve. 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” Only God knows the heart of a man, so be careful with your assessments and careful to always reveal God’s person, beauty, excellence, nature, and the priority He has in your life.
Always keep in your heart and mind the picture God has given us of heaven in The Book of Revelation:
When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying,
“Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might,
be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”
I learned that truly Jesus is the Light of the World (ALL the world).
