Wait for The Lord

Psalm 27.14

Psalm 27:14
Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27 – link

In the last verse, we hear David speaking the Word to himself, “Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”  I’m going to be strong, I’m going be courageous and just wait for the Lord.  The word ‘wait’ as written here means to continue to walk with God, to continue to live with an eager and patient anticipation of God showing up and showing out on your behalf. Wait here means you make your appeal to God, lay your cause before Him with great expectation.

Psalm 40
1I waited patiently for the LORD; He turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
3He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
4Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust.”

Be encouraged you, No Matter What you are going through,
remain confident in the Lord and wait on Him.
Dark clouds may rise, storm winds may blow,
No Matter What stay confident in your God and wait on Him.
Trials dark on every hand and you may not understand,
but you stay confident in your God and wait on Him.
Trouble in your way, you have to cry some time,
stay confident in your God and wait on Him.

I am reminded of the old church song, “Trouble in My Way”.
Trouble in my way, I have to cry sometime.
Trouble all in my way, I have to cry sometime.
Jesus said He would fix it, after while!

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and
WAIT FOR THE LORD.”

“God is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?  Numbers 23:19

Be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10) and rest between His shoulders!

  1. This is one of those Psalms I need to remind myself of quite often. Not many people like to wait. But is there not an old saying, “Good things come to those who wait.”

    Have a blessed day!
