Wisdom Wednesday

Psalm 86.12

It’s Wisdom Wednesday. I pray that you will do a little soul investment and spend time and meditation on these Scriptures and quotes regarding God’s glory on today and tomorrow. Let’s pray and ask God to open our hearts to His truth and transform us even more into the image of His Son. You may want to leave an encouraging comment that will give God the glory He so richly deserves and encourage someone else on this journey.
Bless you and thanks for your making Beholding Him Ministries a part of your day!

Glory 15

“The problem of reconciling human suffering with the existence of a God who loves, is only insoluble so long as we attach a trivial meaning to the word “love”, and look on things as if man were the centre of them. Man is not the centre. God does not exist for the sake of man. Man does not exist for his own sake. “Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” We were made not primarily that we may love God (though we were made for that too) but that God may love us, that we may become objects in which the divine love may rest “well pleased”.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain

Glory 10

“[Amy Carmichael’s] great longing was to have a “single eye” for the glory of God. Whatever might blur the vision God had give her of His work, whatever could distract or deceive or tempt other to seek anything but the Lord Jesus Himself she tried to eliminate.”
― Elisabeth Elliot,
A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael

“Humility is the displacement of self by the enthronement of God.”  ― Andrew Murray, Humility

“What are you really living for? It’s crucial to realize that you either glorify God, or you glorify something or someone else. You’re always making something look big. If you don’t glorify God when you’re involved in a conflict, you inevitably show that someone or something else rules your heart.” ― Ken Sande, Resolving Everyday Conflict

Glory 9

“When you draw on God’s grace to put off your self-centered attitudes and act on His principles, you put His glory on display. Your life points to His vast wisdom, compassion, and transforming power, and as you look for God’s glory, the impact reaches far beyond yourself because you give everyone around you reason to respect and praise God. Glorifying God is not about letting others see how great you are. It’s about letting them see how great the Lord is.”
― Ken Sande, Resolving Everyday Conflict

Glory 3

“God is the greatest thing that exists, ever has existed or ever will…for us to glory in anything else, would be sin, as there is nothing greater than God, there is no calling greater than praising God.”  ― John Piper

  2. Thank you for sharing these! I am going to share some of these pics with my brother and his wife as they have no real relationship with our Lord. Oh, that scares me so much to think they do not seek God. It scares me to think that there are so many people out there who refuse Him. Thank you for being a blessing in my life! Love & blessings! 🙂
