You are to say everything…

great commission

Exodus 7:1-7
Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.” Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them. Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

The Lord commands Moses and Aaron to go…and once again tells them how it will all work. He is so patient with His children.

  • Moses, you are to speak my words to Pharaoh through Aaron who will speak for you
  • You are to say EVERYTHING I command you
  • Aaron is tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites out of his country
  • I will allow Pharaoh’s hard heart to takes its course
  • I will do signs and wonders but Pharaoh will not listen
  • I will bring my people out by divisions (it’s not your words that delivers, it’s Mine.)
  • AND THE EGYPTIANS WILL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD

Moses and Aaron did JUST as the Lord commanded. They were 80 and 83 years of age, respectively.

The Lord’s instruction to Moses and Aaron is to DO EVERYTHING I COMMAND YOU! Jesus gave  His disciples the same command – Go, Make disciples, Baptist, TEACH OBEDIENCE TO EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU.

Matthew 28:18, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

In this postmodern culture where words like sin, hell, repentance, and obedience to the Lord is unacceptable speech; where the teaching of everything, even the Truth of Jesus being the Way to the Father, is considered intolerant and offensive, we are still commanded to go and speak. God’s instruction has not changed. We are commanded to speak Truth in love and with gentleness. (Ephesians 4:15, 2 Timothy 2:24-26).

2 Chronicles 16:9 declares “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.” We can trust God to put the Words in our mouths as witnesses in a dark and depraved world. May we be found faithful just as Moses and Aaron, verse 6, Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them.” Father, please go before us and soften the hearts of the people to hear your voice, may the people not continue  hardened their hearts, but listen. In Jesus Name, Amen.great commission2

  1. I am learning so much following this series about God working through Moses. Every time I read I always start to thinking about the movie The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston. A classic.

Blessings to you from Chicago on this beautiful Saturday morning!

  2. This is a great and timely word for me.
I literally just responded to someone (unbeliever) who’s mocking the idea that in their words: “a fallible human being with a subjective view of the world can claim knowledge to the Truth” to which I pointed out,
Truth is a person; and claiming that “no one can know the truth” cannot be a truth claim by their very own standard – how would they know that no one can know the truth.

This is what happens when we lose sight of the Way, the Truth and the Life. We give ourselves over to lies, confusion and chaos.

Thank God for His word of Truth. Great Word. Thank you.

    1. Thanks for standing on Truth! It is so what this world needs! The fact that the other choose not to believe does not change Truth one bit. If we, true believers, do not tell it, eho will. Surely not the confused and deceived. We have to love so much that we can’t keep it to ourselves! We speak and leave the rest to God. Thanks for making a difference!

      1. In the same way, the dogma many Christians believe makes it their truth, but no The Truth. Believers many times are as wrong as unbelievers. We already are following a doctrine that is far removed from the original. Now this new doctrine – and Paul warned against it – has become so accepted that we see it as the truth. But Truth preceded it, pagan influence altered it. This is why there is so much division and strife. The unified body ceased to exist when dogma came into existence. One question: can you describe the doctrine of the first believers in Yerushalayim, prior to Gentile influences? (It could become an extensive bit of research.) 😃
