Worship God

john-4-34a

Loving this quote from William Temple (1881-1944), the Archbishop of Cantebury for 1942-44:

“To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind with the truth of God, to purge the imagination by the beauty of God, to open the heart to the love of God, to devote the will to the purpose of God.”

Selah (Pause and Ponder)

Selah again (Pause and Ponder)

Father, You are Great and Glorious! Open my eyes that I might see visions of truth, You have for me. Help me to willingly offer myself to You as an instrument for worship and guard myself from things that will hinder my worship for You are worthy of my constant bow before You. Thank you for Your completed work that I could worship You in Spirit and in Truth!
In Jesus Name,
Amen

  1. Beautiful devotional I love the part”” guard myself from the things that may hinder my worship of you”. That is key because we don’t live in a world by ourself or house. To God be the glory for all things. Thanks for this marvelous truth.

    1. Yes, to God be the glory…much truth in in this quote and I too love how it points out our responsibility to guard ourselves in order to maintain a spirit of worship…otherwise, the enemy will do all he can to rob us! Just can’t have that :-)! Bless you and thanks so much for sharing!
