Therefore…Hebrews 3:7-19

Blessings today! As we move on in this Blessed Book of Hebrews, the writer continues to reveal the Supreme, Superior One, Jesus Christ and our need to keep our confidence in Him. Today, we read the rest of Chapter 3 and we will begin to discuss on tomorrow. Please allow me to say once again, that we start with “therefore” so we must look back to see what the there is there for. When we look back we remember all that the Lord has revealed thus far…Jesus is the Superior, Supreme One- greater than angels, the prophets including Moses, greater than anyone or anything because in fact, Jesus is the Creator of all things. He is the unchanging God whose Kingdom will never end and who loves righteousness and hates wickedness and sin! Jesus is the Savior of our souls, His love and grace so mighty that He laid down His life that whosoever believes and receives God’s plan of salvation would have eternal life. Jesus is our Apostle and our merciful and faithful High Priest who destroyed the one who has the power of death, that is the devil.  “Because He himself has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.” Jesus is always with those who receive Him as Lord and Savior! Surely, Jesus is worthy of all glory, honor, praise, exaltation, devotion and worship. Praise His Holy and Righteous Name!

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,

“Today, if you hear His voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
    on the day of testing in the wilderness,
where your fathers put me to the test
    and saw my works for forty years.
10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart;
    they have not known My ways.’
11 As I swore in My wrath,
    ‘They shall not enter My rest.’”

12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the Living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said,

“Today, if you hear His voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was He provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief. Hebrews 3:7-19

My, my, my…see you on tomorrow!

“Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised. The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.”
Psalm 113:1-4 (KJV)
