Hope for today! chosen out of the world

Hope “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. John 15:18-21

Therefore, since…let us

hebrews-10-22.jpg

19 THEREFORE, brothers and sisters, SINCE we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, 21 and SINCE we have a Great Priest over the house of God, 22 LET US DRAW NEAR TO GOD with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

THEREFORE, brothers and sisters,

SINCE…

LET US DRAW NEAR TO GOD…

  • Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
  • Consequently, He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. 7:25
  • Consequently, He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 11:6

Come to Jesus, come the Great High Priest, to the throne of the Living God, the Lamb who was slain BUT is alive, the grave could not hold Him and you will find His grace is sufficient for your every need.

Draw near- love Him, fellowship with Him, worship Him, intimate relations, hunger and thirst for Him, cast your cares on Him- draw near with a sincere heart.

Note this is not an invitation to come to church, nor is it an invitation for intellectual assent, nor is it an invitation to empty works…this is an invitation to bring our hearts in to the very presence of God and commune with Him. The blood of the Lamb, Jesus the Christ gives us access to into His Presence,For through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father (Ephesians 2:18).” And what a blessed presence it is,You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11).

These verses invite all you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior to draw near with a sincere heart, not flippant, nor half-hearted. Draw near without doubt and with full assurance, confidence, and boldness for the blood of Jesus has completely paid your sin debt, removed your quilt, granted justification, imputed righteousness, reconciled you to the Father and has the power to silence your accusing conscience. Draw near and cast down every lie of the enemy by the Word of God for you have been washed by the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb. You are a new creature in Christ.

Blessed is the one who knows forgiveness

Psalm 32.1a

Psalm 32.1b

Psalm 32

Of David. A maskil.

Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.

Psalm 32.3Psalm 32.7

When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.

Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And You forgave the guilt of my sin.

Therefore let all the faithful pray to You while You may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.

Psalm 32.8

You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.

Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to You.
10 Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in Him.

11 Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!

Your will, O God

Hebrews 10.7

Consequently, when Christ came into the world, He said,
“Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
but a body have you prepared for me;
in burnt offerings and sin offerings You have taken no pleasure.
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God,
as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’” Hebrews 10:5-7

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!

I have come to do Your will, O God.”

Your will, O God!
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

Your will, O God!

“even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28

Your will, O God!
She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

Your will, O God!
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18-19

Your will, O God!
“Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” Luke 4:18-19

Your will, O God!
Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush Him; He has put Him to grief; when His soul makes an offering for guilt, He shall see His offspring; He shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. Isaiah 53:10

Your will, O God!
But He was pierced for our transgressions;

    He was crushed for our iniquities;
upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
    and with His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:10

Hope for today: create in me a pure heart

Hope10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.

He will appear a second time!

Hebrews 9.28so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. Hebrews 9:28

“Shout now – Hallelujah!” Waiting for “The Day!” Waiting to see Jesus face to face! Waiting to bow before Him! Waiting to sing Hallelujah with the angels! Waiting to be where there is no sin! Waiting for the former things to be made new! Waiting for the Glory of the Lord to light the City! Waiting to gather with those whose names are listed in the Book of Life!” Waiting…Waiting…Waiting! For what are you waiting? Please leave a comment that will acknowledge the glory of God and bring encouragement to others!

I am reminded of the hymn, “Oh, I Want to See Him.”

As I journey through the land, singing as I go,
Pointing souls to Calvary—to the crimson flow,
Many arrows pierce my soul from without, within;
But my Lord leads me on, through Him I must win.

Refrain:
Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.

When in service for my Lord dark may be the night,
But I’ll cling more close to Him, He will give me light;
Satan’s snares may vex my soul, turn my thoughts aside;
But my Lord goes ahead, leads whate’er betide.

Refrain:
Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.

Refrain:
Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.

When in valleys low I look toward the mountain height,
And behold my Savior there, leading in the fight,
With a tender hand outstretched toward the valley low,
Guiding me, I can see, as I onward go.

Refrain:
Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.

When before me billows rise from the mighty deep,
Then my Lord directs my bark; He doth safely keep,
And He leads me gently on through this world below;
He’s a real Friend to me, oh, I love Him so.

Refrain:
Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.

Hope for today: but on every word

HopeJesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Hope for today: train in godliness

HopeBut have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths. Rather, train yourself in godliness, for the training of the body has a limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance.
10 In fact, we labor and strive for this, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of everyone, especially of those who believe. 1 Timothy 4:7-10

Christ is the Mediator

Hebrews 9.15

For this reason Christ is the Mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. Hebrews 9:15

O please, read the Word of God, slowly…

Christ

is

THE

Mediator

of a New Covenant.

For there is one God, and there is one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” 1 Timothy 2:5-6

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
