Hope for Today: what manner of love

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, Hbecause it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:1-2

Turn your eyes upon Jesus!

Hebrews-3-1-ConsiderTherefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our Apostle and High Priest. Hebrews 3:1

Hebrews 3.1

  1. O soul, are you weary and troubled?
    No light in the darkness you see?
    There’s light for a look at the Savior,
    And life more abundant and free!

    • Refrain:
      Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
      Look full in His wonderful face,
      And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
      In the light of His glory and grace.
  2. Through death into life everlasting
    He passed, and we follow Him there;
    O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
    For more than conqu’rors we are!
  3. His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
    Believe Him, and all will be well:
    Then go to a world that is dying,
    His perfect salvation to tell!

    • Refrain:
      Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

      Look full in His wonderful face,
      And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
      In the light of His glory and grace.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3

Father, Hallow be Your Name in all the earth. Thank you for this due Word in this season.
In Jesus Name, Amen!

1 Peter 1:18-21, “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.”

Worthy of Worship

Today’s Bible Study was a definite BEHOLD HIM time of worship!

Revelation 4:9-11
“Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and worships Him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for You created all things, and by Your will
they were created and have their being.”

We finished by reading this old hymn that helps us to Behold, Behold, Behold! I am placing a link below with the words and soft piano music in a slide show.
I realize the day is far spent and tomorrow is on its way but as we come to the end of this day, a close focus on the words below…Behold, Behold, Behold…we will find rest for our weary souls.

1. Worthy of worship, worthy of praise, Worthy of honor and glory; Worthy of all the glad songs we sing, Worthy of all the offerings we bring. Refrain. You a…

Worthy of Worship
Worthy of worship, worthy of praise,
Worthy of honour and glory;
Worthy of all the glad songs we sing,
Worthy of all the offerings we bring.
You
are worthy, Father, Creator.
You are worthy, Saviour, Sustainer.
You are worthy, worthy and wonderful;
Worthy of worship and praise.
Worthy of rev’rence, worthy of fear,
Worthy of love and devotion;
Worthy of bowing and bending of knees,
Worthy of all this and added to these.

You are worthy, Father, Creator.
You are worthy, Saviour, Sustainer.
You are worthy, worthy and wonderful;
Worthy of worship and praise.

Almighty Father, Master and Lord,
King of all kings and Redeemer,
Wonderful Counsellor, Comforter, Friend,
Saviour and Source of our life without end.

You are worthy, Father, Creator.
You are worthy, Saviour, Sustainer.
You are worthy, worthy and wonderful;
Worthy of worship and praise.

Amen and Amen.

Wisdom Wednesday

As the two ladies walked passed me today, I heard words of disappointment and despair,

“I don’t know what I’m going to do, I just can’t take anymore.”

Most of us have been there at some point in our lives whether it be our marriages, finances, children, health, jobs, emotions, disappointments, etc. Life can be a struggle.

Wisdom Wednesday_11.18.15

Jesus extends this most gracious invitation… come, behold, find rest.
Come, behold the Word of God, His every promise is true:

Remember “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”

O soul are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Saviour,
And life more abundant and free:

[Chorus:]
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
